Our first-generation FanBoy product was designed and tested by avid riders that love to customize our Surly's.
We were looking for a lighter, more compact solution, purpose-built for use with Surly 8 and 24 pack racks we already owned. What we found on the market were oversized lights with huge external battery packs.
So, we went to the drawing board, cut the crap and focused on form, fit and function over ridiculous lumen specs. The result is a high quality, fit-for-purpose light that will hold up to years of riding while you make new memories.

  • Early Proof Of Concept

    It all started with a facebook group post and a dream to bring a purpose-build bike light to market.

  • Prototyping

    Prototypes were assembled, programmed and shipped across North America to owners of Surly 8 and 24 pack racks. Beta testers then provided feedback on form, fit and functionality.

  • Verification Testing

    Pre-production units were ordered and assembled in preparation for some brutal, hands-on, trail riding and accelerated life testing in the lab.
